Leading international broadcaster, Chello Zone, today announced the acquisition of brand new series, Heroes Of The City, for children’s channel JimJam, from Your Family Entertainment AG, Munich.

Set to premiere on the international pre-school channel this May, the 26-part 3D-animated series follows a group of cute and charming rescue vehicles, including Paulie Police Car and Fiona Fire Engine, as they help the city’s residents find troublesome thieves, put out fires and to solve mind-boggling mysteries.

Aimed at children aged three to seven, with stories to fascinate youngsters, the new adventure series from Swedish production company, Ruta Ett, holds positive messages of friendship, problem-solving and fun, proving that anyone can be a hero.

“We’re thrilled that ‘Heroes Of The City’ will be premiering on JimJam in more than 60 territories. It’s a great fit for our young viewers, encompassing our channel’s values to provide educational, entertaining and engaging content for our viewers. The series sits perfectly alongside our varied and much-loved content such as ‘Thomas & Friends’, ‘My Animal Family’ and ‘Bob The Builder’. We have a long standing relationship with Your Family Entertainment AG (YFE) and are excited to see the reactions of this new series”, reflected Kathy Fairbairn, Director of Programming for JimJam.

“Our positive cooperation with JimJam has flourished over the past few years. We are very happy to have been able to supply the channel with quality content to support their growth strategy, and individual markets. Heroes Of The City is a perfect fit for JimJam’s EMEA feed”, says Klaus Forch, EVP Legal and Sales at Your Family Entertainment AG.

Producer at the right owners, Ruta Ett DVD AB, Lennart Blixt, says: “It’s fantastic and very exciting that the series will be premiering on such a global platform as JimJam across EMEA. It’s an honour to be joining the eclectic line-up of classic children’s series featured on the channel”

The announcement follows channel’s recent launch of a dedicated Benelux feed earlier this month which includes Dutch classics, Miffy & Friends and Frog & Friends.

Since its launch in 2006, JimJam has rapidly expanded across seven feeds and into more than 60 territories across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. It is available in 13 languages to over 19 million subscribers worldwide and has a strong online presence with 11 localised websites via www.jimjam.tv.
