The sticker and trading card rights will be granted for the seasons from 2015/16 to 2018/2019. In addition to the rights to conventional stickers and trading cards , there will also be a package of rights for digital stickers and extended rights for digital trading card products for the first time. "Bundesliga collectibles are particularly popular with children and young people," says Andy Meyer, Director of Sales, Sponsoring & Licensing. "These are well-established products offering very attractive marketing potential. The product group should gain new impetus with the extended grant of rights for digital products," he adds. The licensing period for interactive entertainment products covers the seasons from 2015/16 to 2017/2018. The request for bids includes computer games in which football matches or the activities of a football manager are simulated. The individual packages of rights offer the possibility of acquiring licenses for games on different platforms and operating systems, such as consoles, PCs and smart phones, as well as for browser games. "Bundesliga offers innovative game developers two decisive advantages: they can reach a steadily growing international fan base who follow German professional football and they can benefit from optimum marketing conditions in connection with one of the world's most popular sports brands," Meyer stresses. Interested parties are now able to register for participation in one or both of the two open, transparent and non-discriminatory bidding processes. The registration forms are available at www.bundesliga.com/tender. The bidding documents are expected to be sent to suitably qualified parties at the end of May 2014. A decision on the grant of the rights is scheduled for the end of July 2014. |
