Ravensburger awards winning school with puzzles

Ravensburger - June 2014

Puzzle and Games manufacturer Ravensburger recently partnered with a local newspaper to offer a fundraising boost to the community through a puzzle picture competition.

Schools in Bicester were invited by Ravensburger to submit artwork and enter the competition. The winning school, Longfields Primary School, was chosen through an online vote, which saw hundreds of people vote for their favourite puzzle out of the six shortlisted schools who entered.

Longfields Primary School have now received 500 puzzles in their own design, made possible by the the new Personalized Photo Puzzle service from Ravensburger. These 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles will potentially help the school raise up to £5000.

Paul Hollidge, Head Teacher of Longfields Primary School said: “When we were told that our picture had won the competition, it was fantastic news for our school and for the two girls who drew it. We plan to sell the 500 jigsaw puzzles during the rest of the summer term and eighty percent of the cash raised will go to improving the school’s outdoor area with an activity trail. We have also decided to donate twenty percent to a local cancer charity.

Benn Bramwell, Marketing Manager, Ravensburger UK commented: “We felt that as a Bicester based company we wanted to get involved with the local community and contribute to school fundraising opportunities in a fun and interactive way. The picture competition provided pupils with a creative activity that benefitted them and their school.

This has been a fun campaign for Ravensburger and we really enjoyed witnessing a child’s puzzle design come to life with our Personalized Photo Puzzle service. If you would like to find out more, visit www.myRavensburger.com.
