‘Move with Peppa’ programme Launches in Places for People Leisure centres from January 2015

Entertainment One Licensing (eOne) announces today that it will continue its successful and long-standing partnership with Character Options (a wholly owned subsidiary of The Character Group plc), following the renewal of its license as master toy partner for Peppa Pig in the UK.

As a testament to the strength of the Peppa Pig brand, both in the UK and globally, Character Options, which has a global manufacturing deal for Peppa with UK distribution rights, has signed a further three-year licensing renewal, committing to the brand until December 2017. Character’s extensive range of Peppa toys have been successfully rolled out by distributors in Australia, Benelux, Spain, Italy and Russia. The Company has been instrumental in growing the brand in the UK and internationally and continues to be a driving force as Peppa gains momentum in new markets.

Entertainment One (eOne) is partnering with tumuv to create a Peppa Pig branded physical activity programme for pre-schoolers, it was announced today.

Developed by eOne’s Licensing division and tumuv, the ‘Move with Peppa’ programme is designed specifically for 2-4 year olds, and will launch initially in six Places for People Leisure centres from January 2015 with the programme expanding nationwide throughout the year.

‘Move with Peppa' is designed to build motivation, physical confidence, coordination and balance and will include, among other activities, a “Peppa Steppa” exercise routine and Awards Scheme.

A full marketing programme is currently in development, utilising resources from eOne, Tumuv and Places for People.

Commenting on the new partnership, Hannah Mungo, Head of UK Licensing said: “We are extremely pleased to be partnering with tumuv in developing this exciting new initiative. ‘Move with Peppa’ is the perfect way to gently introduce physical exercise, made all the more fun with themed activities and a built in awards-scheme. We hope parents and kids throughout the country will soon be joining in with our ‘Peppa Steppa’ routine as the scheme expands nationwide throughout 2015.

Founder of tumuv, Holly Woodford says: “We are delighted to be working with eOne to develop ‘Move with Peppa’. Children are less active than they have ever been and we wanted to use the magic of Peppa Pig to give children an early introduction into the fun and enjoyment of being active. Children across the country have fallen in love with Peppa Pig through their TV screens so how better to inspire and excite young children as they experience physical exercise for the first time.
