Outfit7’s flagship brand secures 10 new licensees

Multinational entertainment company, Outfit7 Limited, has announced at Brand Licensing Europe a swathe of licensing deals for its flagship family brand, Talking Tom and Friends.

The deals – which span multiple categories including apparel, accessories, back to school, games and puzzles, paper goods and stationery – will see the popular entertainment brand further penetrate international retail markets to meet demand for official branded merchandise.

As Talking Tom and Friends continues to attract new fans across the globe, our licensing program is going from strength-to-strength,” said Angeles Blanco, senior director of licensing and merchandising at Outfit7’s UK subsidiary. “Thanks to our esteemed licensing agents, Outfit7 is partnering with licensees who understand the demands of local markets and recognize the exciting opportunities the Talking Tom and Friends brand presents to retailers and consumers alike.

In the US and Canada, interactive T-shirt developer and manufacturer Lotty Dotty will create a range of fun and innovative apparel and accessories for discerning fashionistas. In a deal struck by Bulldog Licensing, Talking Tom and Friends fans will be able to customize their T-shirts by dressing and accessorizing their favorite characters.

AA Brands is producing a range of Talking Tom and Friends apparel so fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can adorn their favorite interactive characters, making them part of their everyday lives. In a deal negotiated by Team Licensing GMBH, a range of daywear, nightwear, underwear and swimwear is set to hit retail from March 2015. Outfit7 has also struck a deal with AA Brands in France for a range of branded apparel.

In Russia, Icon Promotions has brokered multiple deals with local licensees to bring Talking Tom and Friends branded product to fans of all ages. Perfetti Van Melle is on board to produce a range of confectionary fruit jelly sweets, each taking the shape of a Talking Tom and Friends character. The Italian firm will also bring Chupa Chups Chocoballs with a Talking Tom and Friends toy as a premium to the Russian market.

Icon has also negotiated an agreement with AST License Ltd. for a monthly standalone Talking Tom and Friends magazine in Russia. The launch issue will be published this October and will be Outfit7’s first ever magazine, which will also carry a Talking Tom and Friends cover mount. Additional deals have been signed to bring Russian fans lines of back to school goods, paper products, apparel, accessories, stationery and puzzles, in addition to traditional board games.

With over 40 licensees around the world, Talking Tom and Friends is continuing to expand its global footprint as more partners recognize the commercial opportunities it presents, thanks to its interactive nature and ever-growing fan base.
