Rainbow Set To Sprinkle Some Magic At MIPCOM & MIPJUNIOR 2014!

Leading Italian studio Rainbow is set to wow the crowds at this year’s MIPCOM with the eagerly anticipated seventh series of Winx Club, as well as two brand new properties – Royal Academy and My American Friend.

Winx Club series 7 carries on the theme of recent Winx releases by carrying a strong environmental message. In this adventure the fairies discover the real importance of the rare Fairy Animals, which they must save from Kalshara, an evil shape-shifter and her clumsy brother, Brafilius. The theme of endangered animals recurs throughout the series as the Winx establish an Animal Rescue Park on Earth, where they look after vulnerable animals such as pandas and tigers. The girls also undertake missions in the Magic Dimension and Earth to raise public awareness about the animal cause. This builds to their final mission – to discover the ultimate power of the Fairy Animals, which can give control over all the animals of the Magic Universe.

Royal Academy is a hilarious and exciting new take on some of our best-loved fairy tales and focuses on the adventures of Rose Cinderella, a normal girl who suddenly she finds herself in the world of Fairy Tales where she discovers that Cinderella is… her granny! Rose is enrolled at the fabled Royal Academy where her fellow students include Hawk SnowWhite, Travis Beast, Astoria Rapunzel and Hope LeFrog, all of them belonging to the school founding families. This sparkling new series asks the question - what would you do if you had the opportunity to live in the world of Fairy Tales?

My American Friend is Rainbow’s live action project aimed at pre-teens, which tells the story of Jessie - an American girl with a dream of becoming the world’s greatest fashion designer. She gets her chance on her 16th birthday, when she becomes the youngest contestant ever to win a two-year scholarship at the Milan Fashion Academy. There she meets Bianca, a self-proclaimed Italian “princess,” and together they discover secrets that will change their lives forever!

We are very excited about MIPCOM 2014,” says Andrea Graciotti Head of Sales and Co-Production at Rainbow. “Visitors will be treated to a first glimpse at new content from one of the world’ hottest girls brands, Winx Club, whilst Royal Academy and My American Friend both provide something completely original, fresh and amusing.
