Inside Licensing – a twice monthly digital licensing newsletter covering industry news, trend information, analysis and more – will be introduced by the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) at Brand Licensing Europe 2014.

The newsletter will give context to industry developments, and also feature data points derived from LIMA’s global research projects, including the Annual Business Survey, the Kidz Global Study detailing kids’ favourite characters and brands in 31 markets around the world; and other forthcoming projects.

Mark Seavy, an experienced business journalist for more than 20 years, has joined LIMA as Publications Editor, and will be heading up Inside Licensing, along with other editorial and research projects. The project will be overseen by Marty Brochstein, LIMA Senior VP of Industry Relations and Information, who spent more than 30 years as a business journalist before joining the LIMA staff six years ago.

The first issue of Inside Licensing – which will be available in print to all BLE attendees at the LIMA stand #L100 – will focus on the emergence of 3D printing, its expected impact on licensing, and industry leaders who are already testing the waters; the growing importance of morals clauses; a compilation of recent licensing agreements, and more.

A digital version of every issue of Inside Licensing will be distributed to all LIMA Members and will also be available via the members’ area of licensing.org. Non LIMA members will be able to access the first two issues via the LIMA website after which time Inside Licensing will be available for a subscription fee.

Charles Riotto, President, LIMA said: “This marks a great step in our commitment to provide up-to-the minute data on the licensing industry for our members and beyond. LIMA aims to supply relevant insights to our membership in order to continue growing the licensing business globally.
