The cult duo is back: Even before Tom and Jerry celebrate their 75th birthday in the upcoming year, Boomerang, the children and family channel by Turner Broadcasting System Germany, brings the new Tom and Jerry Show to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The animated TV series is produced by Warner Bros. and presents the legendary cat and mouse team in a fresh look and new settings. They make their German TV debut on Boomerang on Monday, 3 November 2014, at 18:10. The first thirteen 25-minutes episodes of the first season air Mondays to Fridays at 18:10; another thirteen episodes to this season are scheduled for release in March 2015.

For almost 75 years the belligerent cat Tom and the cheeky mouse Jerry have been inspiring TV viewers of all age groups and making their hearts beat faster. Tom and Jerry have won more awards than most other animated characters and have received multiple Academy Awards. On Boomerang the endless chase of the two unequal rivals enters the next round. What is new: The Tom and Jerry Show comes with new modern visual imagery and will be split up in two parts. During the first half of each episode Tom and Jerry act in classic settings. During the second half the cat-and-mouse chase moves to exciting new worlds. So the two opponents no longer meet at their usual suburban house, but continue their slapstick squabbling in unusual places. Once, Tom is the pet-cat of two witchy sisters on a medieval castle. Some other time Jerry is the lab mouse on the bench of a mad scientist, gets nursed with wondrous ingredients, develops supernatural skills and turns into Tom’s personal nightmare. Next time Tom and Jerry jump back in time and solve mysterious cases as an investigators’ duo back in the golden 1920s.

The rebrand starts on 29 September in Latin America, continues in Australia on 3 November and spreads into other regions in 2015. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland Boomerang will shine anew in February 2015.

In der original version of the new Tom and Jerry Show Napoleon is voice-acted by US-American actor Simon Helberg (known as Howard Wollowitz from The Big Bang Theory) and Tom’s owner Rick is voice-acted by comedian Jason Alexander (Seinfeld). Boomerang provide second audio programmes (subject to availability and platform) so that viewers may decide between the original English soundtrack and the German dubbing.

Boomerag offers a taste of the new Tom and Jerry Show and broadcasts a special programme 24 hours prior to the series’ debut: On occasion of the 24 hours Tom & Jerry Marathon starting on Sunday, 2 November 2014 at 18:10 and ending on Monday, 3 November 2014 at 18:10. Boomerang airs different episodes of the classic Tom and Jerry Show as well as selected episodes of the animated series Tom & Jerry Tales.
