Studio 100 Media to take on the licensing of DICKE KATZE & FRIENDS with immediate effect in GSA

Studio 100 - November 2014

‘Dicke Katze & Friends’ is a comic creation from the pen of German graphic artist Olivia Vieweg. ‘Dicke Katze & Friends’ is cool, smart and unbelievably funny and isn’t, therefore, just aimed at cat lovers. In the USA, she’s already so popular that she was part of the giveaway bags at this year’s MTV Movie Awards.

The company ‘830 Studios’ located in the US holds the ‘Dicke Katze & Friends’ licence. In the German-speaking market, Studio 100 Media will represent the brand, which is meant to appeal to children as well as fashion-conscious and design- and style-oriented modern women between 13 and 50 years of age. Approximately 220,000 Facebook fans already corroborate the out-and-out cult potential of ‘Dicke Katze & Friends’. In 2009, the 3 hilarious ‘Dicke Katze & Friends’ books Why Cats Are Happier Than Humans, Why Cats Never Go on a Diet and Why Cats Are Better Than Men sold 20,000 copies in Germany alone.

It is primarily the digital channels that are currently satisfying people’s hunger for even more about the ‘Dicke Katze & Friends’, among them the Fat Cat’s own website, Facebook page and even its own app.

Patrick Elmendorff, CEO of Studio 100 Media GmbH, says: “Dicke Katze & Friends’ isn’t just something for cat lovers. The brand is modern, laid-back and enriches our licence portfolio in a very special way. I’m really pleased to be allowed to build up this brand of our partner 830 Studios.

George Stetar and Scott Norris, partners at 830 Studios: “We’re delighted that ‘Dicke Katze & Friends’ is being developed as a licensed brand on the German-speaking market. We’re convinced that Studio 100 Media is the best partner for us.

‘Dicke Katze & Friends’ will be presented as a licensing topic exclusively by Studio 100 Media at this year’s Licensing Market for the very first time.
