Studio 100 International today announces the initial figures for cinema attendance for the first Studio 100 and Buzz Studios feature film, Maya the Bee: Movie.
The pre-school character initially made her cinematic debut at the beginning of September in up-and-coming territory, South Korea. The company has been encouraged by the number of people who have watched the film in a country where Maya doesn’t have the heritage of the home markets. The movie reached the top of the animated film charts in South Korea, shown on 278 screens and seen by more than 264,000 viewers to date.
Later in September, the movie premiered in home territories, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and has also been watched across Europe and Asia. Germany has posted impressive figures for the bee’s big screen debut with over 656,000 viewers in the first six weeks of showing, reaching fourth at the box office within this time. Available in 2D and 3D, the movie has been supported by a heavy-weight marketing campaign to ensure the brand achieves maximum exposure to garner fans old and new.
Studio 100 were also proud to announce at their company presentation at BLE that they have posted an impressive start for the movie in Poland; a country where the brand has resonated well with consumers. The movie is performing extremely well with more than 277,000 viewers in three weekends, even topping at number 1 of all kids movies. |
