Team! Licensing is very pleased to represent the classic children’s brand The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The Munich based licensing agent, with specialized expertise on classic properties, will further develop the popular brand based on Carle’s best-selling children’s picture books known for its charming characters and illustrations and unparalleled educative reputation. Already, a number of key product categories have been licensed with very successful programs. Team! Licensing is actively seeking partners in the baby segment to create new ranges of product for fans of the Very Hungry Caterpillar featuring Carle’s signature vibrant colors and iconic characters and draw on the unique style and appeal of the brand.

 

With its educational approach and unique visuals, the brand has touched the hearts and minds of German speaking parents, right from its first release in 1970 and up to today. The brand is as popular today as it ever has been with over 500.000 sold copies of the book by the German publisher Gerstenberg just in the last three years.

Expanding the brand further in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Prime UG has been signed on to be the exclusive toy distributor of the World of Eric Carle toy line from U.S. licensee, Kids Preferred. Additionally, StoryToys, global app partner, has recently debuted My Very Hungry Caterpillar, the first fully interactive 3D form app based on the beloved character. My Very Hungry Caterpillaris a virtual character app which lets children nurture, care for, and play with their very own Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Team! Licensing is now set to expand the already successful licensing portfolio into currently untouched categories like food, baby accessories and retail partnerships.

As the Global Licensing Agent for The World of Eric Carle, JLG continues to spearhead a robust licensing program in close cooperation with Team! Licensing, that further expands the brand in infant and toddler categories. The global consumer products program consists of over 125 licensees and promotional partners, consisting of toys, games, apparel, home décor, social expressions, stationery, classroom supplies, mobile apps and more.
