Russian animation Masha and the Bear, which is represented in the broadcasting and licensing sectors by Ink Global, will launch an ambitious and thrilling Ice Show based on the brand in 2015.

The new dancing ice show is the work of Slovakian company Comunique and will initially tour Slovakia and the Czech Republic before taking in other EU countries. The show combines dance and figure skating with 3D projection effects to immerse the audience in the story and produce a unique, interactive experience that the whole family will enjoy. The script, choreography, costumes and production design are all the work of Slovak and Czech authors and artists.

Comunique is the latest licensee to join a long list of partners looking to tap into the popularity of this exceptional and special brand. Its success in the Russian market alone, where more than one hundred partners are in place across categories including puzzles, confectionery, home decorations, digital, toys and fashion, demonstrates the brand’s massive potential.

Masha and the Bear isn’t your average kids brand and this isn’t your average ice show,” says Ink Global Director Claus Tømming. “Comunique are planning something new and innovative that represents a break from the norm and this very much reflects what we are trying to do with Masha and the Bear, as well as all the other brands we represent at Ink Global.

The series is the work of leading Russian animation studio Animaccord and brings the old Russian fairy tale of a little girl held captive by a bear bang up to date. Now it is the quick-witted and mischievous Masha who is determined to spend as much time as possible with a bear who is her rather reluctant playmate. The sharp storylines and beautiful animation mark a change from the usual kids content and channels across the globe have snapped up Masha and the Bear, with nearly 100 broadcasters on board across the world.
