Warner Bros. Consumer Products - May 2015

Warner Bros. Consumer Products EMEA (WBCP EMEA) and Sanrio GmbH are proud to announce the launch of two new product collections for DC Comics X Hello Kitty.

Flik Flak, a company of the Swatch Group, has just launched DC Comics X Hello Kitty watches for children and in a separate deal, leading Spanish department store retailer El Corte Inglés have released a nightwear collection for girls.

Incredibly cool and stylish, DC Comics X Hello Kitty Flik Flak watches from The Swatch Group are now available to buy at retail across EMEA, Australia and New Zealand and several countries in the Asia Pacific region including India and Japan. The collection consists of 3 different designs featuring Hello Kitty dressed as her favourite DC Comics Super Heroes, Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Woman.

Launched in 1987, Flik Flak is the world’s favourite children’s watch brand. Shock-resistant and water-resistant up to 30 metres, the watches are powered by quartz precision movements. In addition, the watches use a colour-coded concept to teach children to read the time, making them a childhood rite of passage that is both fun and fashionable.

The latest designs join the Batman and Superman character-inspired watches that launched globally in February 2015. Three further Batman and Superman inspired watches are scheduled for release in 2015 taking the total number of Warner Bros. branded SKU’s to 8, marking a significant proportion of the partner’s licensed offering this year.

Leading Spanish department store group El Corte Inglés is also on-board the DC Comics X Hello Kitty licensing programme having just launched a new nightwear range for girls across all 80 of its stores in Spain and Portugal. Fun and sassy graphics featuring Hello Kitty as a variety of iconic DC Comics Super Heroes taps into current demand for Super Hero properties that appeal to girls as well as boys. The product extends the retail footprint of the DC Comics franchise and takes it in an interesting new direction targeting new demographics who are completely engaged in the iconic Super Hero culture.
