Italian company Rainbow, a world leader in the kids’ entertainment industry, last week welcomed Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to its headquarters in Loreto. Mr Renzi’s visit was in recognition both of Rainbow’s role in creating Italian jobs and also the excellence of its work. The high quality of Rainbow’s content means that its output is now seen in more than 130 countries. Keeping a promise made last year in Beijing to Rainbow’s Founder and CEO, Iginio Straffi, the Prime Minister toured the company on the 29th May and chatted to the employees, asking Rainbow’s team of illustrators and animators about their work and observing some of the process that has made Winx Club and so many other Rainbow productions into world-beating hits. At the end of his tour he delivered a short speech in which he praised Italian creativity and innovation, referring in particular to the ‘extraordinary’ story of Rainbow and how the determination of its founder and the hard work of the team he assembled brought about the realization of Mr Straffi’s dream of a world-beating production company. |
The visit comes at a significant time for Rainbow, with the international presence of Winx Club continuing to grow and plans already advanced for a number of new productions as well as a live action version of Winx.
Rainbow will be discussing its ongoing plans, as well as the continuing licensing success of Winx Club, Mia and me, and many other established hits, at Licensing Expo stand R181. It will also be introducing its newest productions — My American Friend (the company’s first entirely live action project), and Royal Academy (working title), a comedy animation project that offers a very inventive and entertaining twist on some of the best-loved fairy tales.
