A large selection of 87 romantic TV movies from ZDF Enterprises’ drama department ZDFE.drama were successfully broadcast on Spain’s TVE. The TV movies were aired on an afternoon and an access primetime slot where they achieved up to 11.7% market share (1.5 million viewers). The average audience share of these slots this year was 9.5% in the first slot and 7.1% in the second slot.

The three most-watched TV movies were ‘An expensive fling’ from the ‘Katie Fforde Collection’ with ratings of 11.7% as well as ‘A Summer in Hungary’ from the ‘A Summer in…’ Collection and ‘My Husband’s Wedding’ from the ‘Inga Lindstroem Collection’ with 11.1% audience share each, making these TV movies up to 4.6 percentage points more successful than the average of the time slots.

TVE, a long-standing and important partner in Spain for ZDF Enterprises since many years, has already been buying programs for a weekend slot on a regular basis. In Autumn 2014, TVE launched a weekday afternoon time slot for romantic TV movies and telenovelas, for which a first package of 50 titles was acquired from ZDF Enterprises. An additional deal of 37 further romantic TV movies was closed in early 2015 thus confirmed and further strengthens the already existing successful partnership between ZDF Enterprises and TVE. The acquired programs consist of movies from ZDFE.drama’s classic collection of adaptations of best-selling books from renowned authors such as Rosamunde Pilcher, Inga Lindstroem, Katie Fforde and others.
