Studio 100 International, part of the leading global family entertainment company Studio 100 Group have announced a partnership deal with Lidl Slovak republic for their flagship brand, Maya the Bee. The deal sees Maya themed playgrounds (valued at €87,000 each) built by Lidl in cities with at least one of its stores. Fans across Slovakia have been voting online for the addition of a Maya playground in their community, which has already seen huge success with over 2.6 million votes in six weeks, and more than half a million people registered. Substantial investment will be put into this key CSR-project with each opening of the playground being celebrated by Lidl with a marketing and TV campaign. In 2016, Lidl plans to open 10 Maya playgrounds and have projected more to be created in 2017. The playgrounds will be connected primarily with Maya but will feature other characters from the Maya TV series. In addition to this, Lidl Slovakia will organise several Maya loyalty programmes which will be introduced in the future. “Since we made the decision to carry out this CSR-project we were intensively looking for the right brand to establish a natural partnership. Obviously, Maya is the right choice because of the mediated values and popularity she has among several generations of Slovaks,” said Tomáš Bezák, PR & CSR manager of Lidl Slovak Republic. Evy Van Nederkassel, Licensing and Sales manager at Studio 100 International adds: “It’s great to see Maya reaching an increasing number of fans across Slovakia, and with the new partnership with Lidl we are able to inspire fans with new projects. The response we’ve received has been fantastic and we can’t wait to see Maya playgrounds in action” |
