Studio 100 - August 2016

Studio 100, who is celebrating its 20th birthday this year, will be exhibiting a number of its popular licenses at BLE. Key focus for the show will be the latest license added to Studio 100’s portfolio, Arthur and the Minimoys, along with updates from the company’s other key brands such as Heidi, Nils Holgersson, Blinky Bill, etc.

This new series is based on the fantasy novels for children and movie trilogy directed by Luc Besson and offers young viewers a great mix of comedy and action/adventure. Following Arthur, a bright, ingenious 10-year-old in his newly discovered world of the Minnimoys, children will be able to enjoy exciting new characters with their unique accessories and innovative environment that will offer high profile licensing opportunities.

The CGI action series, which is currently in production (co-production with EuropaCorp Television) is already being met with broadcast acclaim and is forecasted to air in 2018, with 26 episodes, targeted at children aged 5-12 years old. Studio 100 will be offering visitors to the stand (G15) an exclusive look at first images and the trailer. The team will be meeting partners in key categories across all markets where the series has been pre-sold.

Also core to this year’s show will be the upcoming launch of Maya the Bee Season 2, with Maya the Bee’s animation celebrating its 40th birthday this year. The new series will offer fans new stories, characters and landscapes, all ideal for licensing opportunities. The series will consist of 52x13’ new episodes, set to broadcast in 2017, to reach major pre-school networks internationally.

Additionally, Maya will be returning to the big screen in cinemas globally with Maya the Bee Movie 2, following the success of the first movie, which was released on 4,000 screens worldwide. The film is currently in pre-production for release in 2018. Studio 100 will be premiering new images and the official trailers for the new series and film on stand throughout the show.
