On occasion of Universal Children’s Day on 20 September – three new children’s games by Ravensburger

Ravensburger - September 2016

Who is able to catch “Flotti Karotti”?

Flotti Karotti is a new variant of the popular Ravensburger long-seller “Funny Bunny”. Now the hilarious carrot is able to talk and he personally brings fun and action to child rooms. He makes young players hop like rabbits to his music, sends them to find his hidden fruit and vegetable friends and tests their reactions: Who is able to catch the fast-paced carrot when he suddenly rockets into the air?

“Hello, do you want to play with me?” asks the carrot that resides on top of the green hill. Fast music fills the air and the carrot invites young players to become little hares that hop on all fours or alternatively on one leg. “Yay!” He cheers loudly when everyone joins in. Now you go hunting for his dear friends. Are you able to find Bella Pear, Konrad Garlic or Paula Paprika? 16 face-down tiles featuring Flotti’s fruit and vegetable friends are spread out on the floor. Quickly everyone starts to search. Flotti Karotti awards those who are able to find Paula in time with one of his coveted carrot chips – but be careful not to confuse her with “Schneckrika”! Another chip can be won in that one moment which all young hares are eagerly awaiting: When the carrot rockets into the air! Who will be the one to catch it? Whoever collects most carrot chips wins the game.

Flotti Karotti is a fast-paced action game for one to six children aged between four and eight. The electronic device needs three 1.5 V AA/LR6 batteries to operate.

Do not fret while feeding the bat!

The bat “Flippi Flatter” loves to be fed by brave children and she hands out jewels and gems as gifts afterwards. But it is a tricky thing to present the right amount of food: If you do not give her enough, she will jump up and start flapping her wings wildly the next time! Those who are able to guess Flippi’s appetite correctly will collect most gems and win Ravensburger’s new action game.

Flippi Flatter, mistress of Castle Flatterstone, sits on the battlements and sticks out her red tongue: Who is brave enough to push it and fed the bat? Once, twice, or even three-times? The more you push the tongue, the more gems you will be awarded …After all, everyone is trying to fill up their treasure-bag. But every time you feed her, you run the risk to annoy the bat and – whoops – the skittish animal freaks out and flaps her wings wildly for seconds! If she does, you will not only be startled by her movements but also lose your treasure. However, brave gem-collectors also throw the dice and move along the colourful castle rooms to sneakily complete their gem collection. Who is the first to collect gems and jewels of every colour wins this thrilling action game.

Flippi Flatter is an action game for two to four fearless children aged 4+. The inbuilt random generator never fails to provide thrill, fun, and surprises. The game features a simplified variant for beginners. The device needs three 1.5 V AA/LR6 batteries to operate (not included).

Galactic duel: Who draws first, wins the game

For the reaction game Star Wars™ „Das große Lichtschwert-Duell“ brave fighters aged 6+ challenge their adversaries to a duel with suitable cards: Both insert their lightsabres into the electronic duel station, the original film sound rings out … Who will be the first to draw their sabre? Jedi or Sith? The quickest player collects their adversary’s cards – and you can never have enough of those if you want to win.

The 64 cards feature no lesser characters than Darth Vader, Yoda, or Luke Skywalker. Always four representatives of the Sith Lords and the Jedi Knights challenge each other at the gaming table – as a face-down, well-shuffled deck of cards. The young fighters have a hand of three cards each and try to form a trio with cards drawn from the pile: try and collect three Sith or Jedi cards of the same kind or three totally different cards. Those cards that don’t match will end up on your own discard pile, which is closely watched by your cunning fellow players: After all, the game is all about nicking the discarded cards of your adversaries. So don’t hesitate to challenge those to a duel whose pile is the best. The only condition: the topmost card must feature an opposing character. Bold fighters insert their lightsabres into the duel station. The characteristic sound fills the air and nerves are on edge: As soon as the blue light goes out, it indicates who has been the quickest to react and who has first drawn their sabre: Green for Jedi or red for Sith? Triumphantly the original Star Wars™ music welcomes the winner. Whoever is able to win most cards with skills and quick reactions, wins the galactic game.

In addition to the basic version the great lightsabre duel features two card game variants for diversity. The electronic duel station needs three 1.5 V AAA/LR03/AM4 batteries to operate (not included).
