Press Conference Next Tuesday to Preview Highlighted Products

Asia’s largest toy fair, the HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, will open in mid-January, alongside the HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair and the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair. The three fairs will draw over 2,900 exhibitors from around the world to showcase a wide range of innovative products. Close to 120 buying missions representing more than 6,000 companies are scheduled to attend the fairs.

The three events will open on 9 January 2017, and continue through 12 January at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). A press conference will be held on 3 January (Tuesday) to announce details of the fairs and offer a first-hand look at some of the highlighted products from manufacturers worldwide, including:

  • Smart electronic blocks – Utilising a dedicated mobile app, a variety of sound and lighting effect combinations can be created with a series of circuits formed with magnetic blocks and wires. These ‘smart blocks’ are designed to arouse an interest in science among children;
  • Mobile AR game app – Players can use a physical toy along with augmented reality (AR) technology to unlock the special abilities of virtual pets. An AR positioning map and virtual reality (VR) perspective interpretation allows players to enjoy a range of game experiences;

  • 1:9 scale NBA LeBron James action figure – A museum-quality figure with authentic likeness and detail including accurate physical appearance, 34 points of articulation and more;
  • Smart milk temperature monitor – The first automatic non-contact milk temperature monitor provides accurate and convenient temperature measurements for bottle-feeding;
  • Heat-retaining baby bathtub – Developed in Korea, this baby bath has multiple components so heat is not lost too quickly, as well a waterproof thermometer and embedded wheels to add mobility and versatility;
  • 4D art set series – Applying AR technology, a child’s drawings can be visualised and animated by scanning them with smart devices. The device can help develop childhood interest in art and cultivate creativity;
  • Award-winning double-sided glue tape – Awarded the Good Design Award 2016, this adhesive is applied like correction tape after a gentle pulling motion.
