Character World has expanded its range of gaming licenses securing an exciting new deal with Minecraft.

The Manchester based international textiles business has won the Pan-European license to design and produce bedroom textiles for Minecraft, a hugely successful multi-platform game which has sold 120 million copies worldwide.

The range will initially launch in the UK and will feature a duvet set and cushion released in Spring/Summer 2017, with a towel and throw set launching in April 2017.

Tim Kilby, brand director at Character World, said: Minecraft is not just a game but a global phenomenon, so we are excited about securing this deal! Gaming is bigger than ever so it’s important for us to capitalise on its popularity. Minecraft is still the no.1 mobile app game in UK, despite the app game launching in October 2011. We have already had huge success with our other gaming ranges and we expect the Minecraft products to be a sell-out success, we’re delighted to be able to cater to the demand for Minecraft textiles.”

Minecraft is the latest edition to Character World’s gaming licences which already includes Pokémon and Super Mario.

Founded in 1988, Character World works with some of the world’s leading entertainment companies. It supplies retailers across the UK and Europe including Asda, Next, Tesco and John Lewis.
