Rights & Brands has been appointed worldwide licensing agent for Marius®, the iconic Norwegian pattern and brand. Bulls Licensing has been commissioned to manage the operational business for Rights & Brands.

The classic “Norwegian sweater” pattern has grown from the most hand-knitted pattern in Norway to a successful licensing business with over 25 licensees and 100 products. OnePiece:s, kitchen ware, bedlinen and blankets are among the most popular products yet.

Coinciding with the 65:th anniversary in 2018, Marius®, has appointed Rights & Brands as their worldwide agent to further develop the brand, and expand the universe of licensees and products internationally.

Originally designed by Unn Søiland Dale (1926-2002) the pattern is now a registered trademark and handled by Marius of Norway AS, headed by Vigdis Yran Dale, the designer’s daughter.

“I have been building the brand and licensing business for Marius® over the past 10 years, based on my mother’s design from 1953”, says Vigdis Yran Dale, CEO of Marius of Norway. “The business has been developing at such a rate that we now need a professional agent. I have chosen Rights & Brands, as they strike me as one of the best in the Nordics. Marius® and its roots are Norwegian, but the international interest is ever growing. We are very excited about taking the brand to the next level”, says Dale.

“Marius® is a stand-alone in Norwegian design”, says Gustav Melin, Licensing Director, Bulls Licensing. “We are thrilled to be working with such iconic brand. There is great licensing potential both in- and outside of the Nordics, and we are looking forward to developing the brand together with Vigdis Yran Dale and Marius of Norway.”
