Since its release on October 19th , The new album of Asterix and Obelix -Asterix and the Chariot Race- proved to be an instant success, rocketing up the booksales in France and in Europe, with more than 2 million copies already sold within the past 3 weeks. On top of that, a new live action movie has just been announced for 2020, that will bring our 2 Gauls to China.

 

Many prestigious sales partners seized the opportunity to get associated with this unique phenomenon in the field of the publishing world (first circulation of 5 million copies, including 2 millions in France).

From November 7th to December 17th, the U Supermarkets launch a huge national promotional campaign: “Le Village en fête”.

Throughout the month of November, McDonalds - the famous fast food restaurants - is once again a major partner of Asterix.

Asterix and the SNCF group
During All Saints holidays, Asterix and Obelix had the opportunity to travel by train every day thanks to the SNCF Group !

  • 100 000 magazines had been given to families and children in 13 French train stations
  • 1 million ticket jackets had been printed with Asterix drawings
  • 200 000 Asterix fidelity cards had been distributed to the passengers
  • The mascots were present in the train stations, where quizz contests had been organized to give the passengers the opportunity to win several gifts, including the new album, free entrances for the Parc Asterix, and many more surprises linked with the small Gaul with the winged helmet.
