Alfilo Brands is partnering with e-commerce giant Alibaba, China’s largest supplier base, to bring the Gallery’s collection of some of the greatest paintings in the world to the Chinese market with licensed National Gallery merchandise sold through online stores, pop-up shops and concessions in department stores across China. The range will begin launching later in 2018. For the third year running, a range of Food Gifting items will be featured in leading retail chain Boots in the UK, brought to the market by Scoop Designs. Following the success of the first range in 2016, the range was expanded further for 2017 and saw sales up nearly 30% YOY, a 98% sell–through and was the second best-selling brand in Food Gifting. The 2018 range will launch later this year. Jane Evans, Managing Director or JELC, the global licensing agency for the National Gallery commented: “The success of National Gallery range in Boots is a fabulous example of how art can come together with food with a strong, quality product offering and broad appeal that can succeed in the competitive high street environment today. There is great potential to take this concept to other markets around the world” I Like Birds Market-leading greeting card publisher, The Art File, launched a range of greeting cards earlier this year and is delighted with the success so far. Having started in the UK, cards have recently launched in the US and they have had orders from France and several other European countries. Plan are already in place to expand the range further with additional cards, gift bags and wrap. Leading publisher, Quadrille launched their first range of stationery including diaries, address book, notebooks, jotter pads and notecards and envelopes in April 2018 with strong pre-orders from key UK retailers. Plans are already in place to roll out to International markets including the US. Summer 18 sees the launch of My Gifts Trade much anticipated ceramics, textiles, coasters and doormats which were shortlisted for Gift Year of 2018. We’re also delighted to announce a sub-agency agreement with Home Made Licensing in France. Signed earlier this year, they are already well into discussions with their first licensee for the French and Benelux markets. Jane Evans commented: “I first saw I Like Birds as a judge on the panel for License This and I knew straight away it had the originality, quality and commercial potential to take it to a whole new level. We’re delighted to have such strong, committed partners on board and see the licensing program really take off - 2018 looks to be an exciting year” JELC and The National Gallery are most grateful to Beanstalk for facilitating the space in a prime position. |
