50 toys in five categories have been nominated for the Goldenes Schaukelpferd; 50 toys that the “familie&co” magazine and the DVSI believed to be “well-thought-out, child-appropriate and innovative”. The large storehouse set with lift aimed high: A jury of children, parents, and toy experts not only selected the toy winner in the category “For Artists and Builders”, it also gained another major victory and became overall Toy of the Year.
Especially convincing was the storehouse’s combination of height and versatility. For the first time, BRIO offers a toy with different levels and thus provides children with an even greater variety of opportunities to build their own BRIO World. The lift playfully introduces different heights and levels and the new velocity of their trains.
Stephan Wessolek, Chief Editor “familie&co” about the jury’s decision: “Once more a toy from the category “For Artists and Builders” has been able to pull in most votes and thus won the Toy of the Year award. Even in the testing stage at the children’s day care centre, we got the impression that Brio could win, as the Storehouse with Lift was the one toy most children played with.” The children not only enjoyed the versatility of the high-quality material that inspires creativity and promotes visual thinking, but also liked the possibility to play at new heights thanks to stackable bridges and the lift. “Great fun, especially for fans of logical thinking! But we also have to say: It was a narrow decision and the count of the votes was exciting till the very end. We also congratulate and acknowledge all the other winners”, said Wessolek.
Sophie Reinthaler, Marketing Manager, BRIO, is positively happy about winning this coveted prize: “This award is a great recognition for our innovative new toy that will hit the toy market this year. We are proud to have been able to stand out among the keen competition and to convince the fiercest jury – the children.”
The large Storehouse Set with Lift is available in August 2018. It is suitable for children aged 0+ (no small parts) and, due to its play value, is recommended for ages 3 and up. |
