EM.TV Group wins LIMA Awards for “Licensing Agent/Licensor of the Year and “License Theme”

At the LIMA-Gala in Munich’s Bayerischer Hof, the EM.TV Group were awarded with two LIMA Awards. First of all, licensing association LIMA awarded EM.Entertainment GmbH as "Licensing Agent/Licensor of the Year", followed by the "License Theme" award/category for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Licensing Program.

EM.Entertainment GmbH, a subsidiary of EM.TV AG, is one of the leading producers and distributors of animated children program in Europe. The company is the center for all activities in EM.TV’s core business unit Entertainment. These encompass the production of high quality programs for the children and youth markets and worldwide management of TV, home entertainment, Video-on-Demand, mobile and merchandising rights. In the merchandising division the company possesses an extensive portfolio of well-known classics such as Maya the Bee, Tabaluga and Heidi as well as attractive new properties like The SAVE-UMS!.

Furthermore, EM.TV AG earned the prestigious honor in the "License Theme" category for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Licensing Program. In spring 2002, EM.TV acquired the exclusive right to market product licenses for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ and since then has operated under contract to the world soccer body FIFA as its "Licensing Representative" within Europe. Within the scope of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, EM.TV AG secured contracts with a total of 58 licensees.

The marketing role assumed by EM.TV incorporated not only the issue of product license rights to the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, but also the encouragement of co-operations between partners from the production, distribution and retail segments. Thus, EM.TV consistently pursued a strategy centered on securing a manageable number of licensees with broad-based, high quality product portfolios and bringing these together in an effective network.

The LIMA Award Deutschland is granted every year by the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association LIMA across six categories – license theme, promotion, retail partner, licensing agency/licensor, license product and licensee of the year. The awards event was part of the LIMA-Gala, which took place in Munich’s Bayerischer Hof and was one of the highlights of this year’s Licensing Market trade fair.
