Jetix Europe N.V. (AMEX: JETIX; Reuters JETIX.AS; Bloomberg: JETIX.NA), has appointed Marc Buhaj as Senior Vice President of Programming for Jetix Europe. Mr. Buhaj will join Jetix Europe on April 2, 2007.
Mr. Buhaj previously worked as executive director of programming and acquisitions for Turner Entertainment Networks Asia (TENA) in Hong Kong, where he led scheduling, commissioning and acquisitions for all Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Pogo feeds in Asia-Pacific. Mr. Buhaj helped to develop and launch the new Indian kids channel, Pogo, in January 2004. Prior to joining Turner Broadcasting’s Sydney office in March 2001, he worked for the Seven Network Australia. Mr. Buhaj will report to Jetix Europe’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Taylor, and will oversee all aspects of Jetix Europe’s content. This will encompass production, development, acquisitions, scheduling, on-air promotions, multi-media programming and administration. Jetix Europe is majority owned by The Walt Disney Company. Its 14 Jetix television channels entertain kids 6-14 in 58 countries and 18 languages, reaching over 46 million households across Europe and the Middle East with content tailored to suit local markets. Branded Jetix blocks air on terrestrial TV networks reaching over 100 million households. Paul Taylor, C.E.O., Jetix Europe said, "I am delighted that we have secured Marc to lead our content vision.
