“1, 2 or 3” is cult: 30 years ago the successful quiz show for children made its debut on ZDF tivi – the children and youth block on the ZDF and the ORF. Three quiz teams from three German-speaking countries compete against each other and prove their knowledge of the topic of the week. For the year of their anniversary “1, 2 or 3” follows a brand-new concept: True to the motto “30 Years – 30 Nations” they invite teams from all over the world. |
Conditions: Applicants should be 9 or 10 years old and attend the fourth class of an elementary school (or an equivalent to the German “Grundschule”). Besides their mother tongue candidates should be able to speak and understand German. Please send your application to:

How to play “1, 2 or 3”: 1, 2 or 3 is an unparalleled combination of knowledge transfer and entertainment. Daniel Fischer presents questions from diverse fields of knowledge and provides three different answers. The answering method is almost legendary: Candidates jump across colourful answering fields and have to decide on the right answer within a few seconds. So this show not only exercises the brains but also the feet! Film clips or experts in the studio state, explain and illustrate the correct solution. “Playing together consolidates children”, said Klaus Wersin, executive editor of the show. “That is a decisive aspect of 1, 2 or 3. And if in the future, it consolidates children on an international level – so much the better. Thus nations move together also in children’s programmes. We will be delighted when at the end of a show children not only take away their prizes but also have made new friends.” |
