Rococo Chocolates to launch handmade Moomin Easter eggs
Brandora Redaktion - March 2019Spring launch by award-winning chocolate brand coincides with launch of new TV series
Caroline Mickler Ltd, which builds the UK licensing programme for Moomin, has announced an agreement with the multi-award-winning group of luxury chocolate shops Rococo Chocolates for Moomin Easter eggs that will launch in March. The launch will coincide with the arrival of the brand-new animated series Moominvalley on Sky.
The Easter eggs will be made of handmade milk chocolate and will contain an equally delicious selection of smaller, foil-wrapped milk chocolate eggs. The iconic visual design style of Rococo Chocolates combined with the exquisite art of Tove Jansson’s Moomin will inform the look of the packaging, which will feature Moomintroll and his friends and family.
Moomin POS material will support the products in their flagship Rococo store situated in Chelsea. This is one of the very few brands which Rococo has ever licensed, attracted by the enduring charm of the books and characters and the beauty of the artwork.
The carefully crafted chocolates – handmade, like all Rococo products – will be available at the London-based Rococo stores in Chelsea, Belgravia, Covent Garden, Marylebone and Notting Hill. They will also be available online at Rococochocolates.com
Rococo Chocolates is multi-award-winning luxury chocolate brand. Rococo Chocolates now has five shops in London.
Licensee interest in Moomin, already high, is being even further boosted with the arrival in spring 2019 of a major new animated TV series, Moominvalley, directed by Academy Award-winner Steve Box on Sky.
Caroline Mickler Ltd continues to develop Moomin as a modern adult fashion and gifting property as well as an appealing pre-school property for today’s children. The eagerly awaited new animation and the continuing appeal of the original novels and picture story books will make 2019 an especially busy year for the delightful inhabitants of Moominvalley.
The brand’s established licensed output includes luxury handbags, fashion apparel and accessories, homewares and publishing . All these products are part of the continuing success of a UK Moomin licensing campaign targeting a wide variety of price points and retail outlets.
Chantal Coady OBE, CEO and founder of Rococo Chocolates, says: “I was introduced to the Moomin family by my mother, an avid reader who loved to read aloud to her children. When I was approached to work with the Moomin brand, I was so delighted to be able to go back to the books and illustrations and admire Tove Janssen’s work again with adult eyes, and see how enduring and fresh everything remains, and how current the themes of caring for others and the environment are. I look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship.”
Caroline Mickler says: “We are delighted to be partnering with a company that has, over the last three decades, built an international reputation for the quality and innovation of its chocolate and whose packaging aesthetic so beautifully compliments Tove Jansson’s Moomin artwork.”
