  • Animated show “Dragon“ nominated for children programming award “Goldener Spatz 2007”

scopas medien AG, producer of the satire on the German national football team “Deutsche 11 backstage”, wins the intermedia-globe SILVER Award in the category “WEBSITES: webcasts” for their popular website www.D11B.tv. The coveted prizes will be awarded on May 9th at the WordlMediaFestival 2007 in Hamburg. A panel of independent international media experts has sifted through 487 contributions from 22 countries. The WorldMediaFestival is one of the most important international competitions for audio-visual media business.

”We are delighted that our concept not only inspires our German online community, but also surpasses high calibre competitors from all over the world”, said Thomas Schneider-Trumpp, producer of those satiric animated clips. In addition to daily football news, the website www.D11B.tv provides many interactive features including a video pod cast by the producers, a web log and a forum, where fans are able to exchange latest gossip and football news.

Centre piece of the pages are the downloadable video clips on “Deutschen 11 backstage”. More than three million people have already been watching the episodes only this year. The popular stop-motion films satirize national football heroes like Poldi, Schweini, Lehmann, Kahn, Michi Ballack, Jogi and Klinsi. The characters are made of silicone-rubbery material. Between two pictures taken, the figures just make minute movements. Thus 25 individual pictures per second perfectly simulate smooth moves.

With their popular children’s show “Dragon” scopas medien is able to celebrate another great success. The series has been nominated for the “animation” category of the children programming award “Goldener Spatz 2007” at this year’s “Children’s Film&TV Festival” in Gera and Erfurt. In autumn 2007 KI.KA will launch the third season of the preschool series “My Funny Friend Dragon” – co-produced by scopas medien and exported into more than 40 countries worldwide.
