Global Icons Signs To Represent Camp Beverly Hills
BRANDORA Editorial Staff - August 2020 Leading brand-licensing agency Global Icons is pleased to announce its exclusive North American representation agreement with the LA fashion brand – Camp Beverly Hills.
Originally launched in 1977, the pop culture phenomenon known for its casual and comfortable style has been an iconic Hollywood favorite for decades. Featuring colorful California pastels fit for the casual LA lifestyle, Camp Beverly Hills was created to be the antithesis of the high fashion brands that were being sold in the boutiques of Beverly Hills at the time. The first store was located on a side street just off Rodeo drive it became an overnight sensation and a celebrity obsession first taking off in California then around the country and the world.
Throughout the 1980s, the brand expanded and was sold in major department and specialty stores nationwide. At its height, Camp Beverly Hills was licensed in Apparel, Accessories, Footwear, Fragrance, Eyewear, and Home Textiles.
Global Icons will re-establish the brand’s LA roots with the launch of an exclusive capsule collection and Pop-Up activation recreating elements of the original Camp Beverly Hills store at the iconic retailer Fred Segal and on Fredsegal.com in Spring 2021. The agency will seek licensing partners to take it into wider distribution nationally in 2022 and beyond.
“When we looked at many of the brands that have comeback in the last couple of years, the timing just felt right for Camp Beverly Hills. We are thrilled to be part of bringing one of our favorite brands to a whole new generation” says Bill McClinton, SVP of Global Icons.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to have this classic brand that represented a lifestyle from the 80s now in the hands of such an iconic brand builder and retailer as Global Icons and Fred Segal. There is so much pent up demand for the return of Camp Beverly Hills, and I know that young adults from the 80s will be delighted to share this fun brand with the young adults of today,” said Jay Foreman, Managing Partner Camp Beverly Hills N.A.
