DISCOP 2007: ZDF Enterprises Scores a Hit with Fictional Programs and All Media Offers

ZDF Enterprises - July 2007

ZDF Enterprises returns from DISCOP in Budapest, which has just come to a close, with a host of sales agreements. And the majority of sales concluded here were quality fictional productions from ZDF. For instance, the Slovakian broadcaster Markiza extended and expanded its output deal relating to series and TV movies - the new agreement provides for annual sales of 40 TV Movies and 66 series episodes, a total of 126 program hours of fiction; 250 episodes of the Telenovela 'Julia' were sold to the Viasat broadcasting network, with an emphasis on Scandinavia and Eastern Europe; and a sales agreement with Bulgaria is on the point of being concluded. Viasat also purchased 52 episodes of the teen series "H2O - Just add water", and rights for all media rollout were also secured. Agreements are about to be signed with various East European countries for DVD exploitation of the ZDF classics 'The Legacy of the Guldenburgs', 'Derrick', 'Black Forest Hospital' and 'A Case for Two'.

Christian Massmann, Head of Sales for ZDF Enterprises: "We are particularly pleased by the huge interest displayed in the all media rollouts offered by ZDF Enterprises for the live action series 'H2O - Just add water' and the documentary event 'Update - The World in 50 Years'. This clearly indicates that our clients recognize the demand for cross-media marketing of their programs. Digital developments are changing consumer behaviour in dramatic ways, and only those who are thinking now about how to contact and retain their customers in the future will enjoy success in the years to come."
