Schmidt Spiele strengthens trade with starter kit box

Schmidt Spiele - February 2021

Everything from one box

A few days ago would have been with the toy fair in Nürnberg again varied novelties of all game manufacturers, publishers and companies would have been presented. But like many other trade fairs and events, this one has also been postponed. In order to come with the trade nevertheless in the discussion to strengthen this and to be able to present the novelties of the year 2021, Schmidt Spiele is relying on extensive trade promotions - including compact starter kit boxes, which were sent to more than 500 retail partners. These contain all the important information about the product range and the new products from the areas of games, puzzles and plush, as well as sales documents, bundled in a box - with a few little surprises.

Games and puzzles attract the whole family around the table - and have done so for many generations. It's not just the well-known classics that inspire enthusiasm; new products are also currently in high demand. However, the canceled and postponed trade shows and events make it difficult for publishers and game manufacturers, to talk to retailers and present the new products for the spring. In addition to the digital presentation, Schmidt Spiele is therefore relying on a compact starter kit box, which provides an initial overview of the new products and spring sales promotions. In this way, Schmidt Spiele wants to strengthen the retail trade during this unusual time.

"Toys are products that you want to try out, touch and examine thoroughly before you buy them. This also applies to retailers, who only include products in their range that also convince them. That's exactly why trade fairs like Nuremberg are so important for us. Because that's where we get to talk to retailers, show and explain the new products and also play them together. In recent months, however, precisely such meetings have only been possible to a limited extent. In our industry, too, much has shifted to the digital space, but that doesn't make it any easier for us. Because in the flood of information and information that is distributed on a daily basis, it is easy for news to get lost in the shuffle. This is precisely why we send out the starter kit box, which should end up exactly where toys belong: On the shelves and on the gaming tables", says Axel Kaldenhoven, managing director of Schmidt Spiele.
