Omniwheels vehicles and dancing robots

Fischertechnik construction kit for Robotics-Beginners

Omniwheel vehicles can be
built and programmed with the
fischertechnik Robotics Smarttech
construction kit.
With the Robotics Smarttech construction kit (available from July), fischertechnik is entering the next dimension of mobile robots. This is because new components can be used to construct various Omniwheels vehicles that can move in all directions. Other models, such as a dancing robot, can also be built and programmed with the construction kit for robotics beginners.

The Robotics Smarttech construction kit provides a glimpse into the future of autonomous driving vehicles - this with an easy-to-use controller. This is because the included TXT Smart Controller has been designed for beginners who want to get started with Robotics programming. The newly developed programming language ROBO Pro Coding supports both graphical and text-based programming and allows a choice of different learning levels. With its graphical interface, it is perfect for learning the universal programming language Python later on.

ROBO Pro Coding can be used, for example, to program vehicles that are equipped with a completely new tire concept, as occurs in mobile robotics. The omniwheels - or all-side wheels - enable space-saving maneuvering by allowing the driving indicators to move sideways or diagonally. In addition, the vehicles can even turn on the spot. fischertechnik developed extra-strong, high-quality components for this purpose in order to be able to guarantee the functionality of the versatile vehicles.

Another attractive model is the dancing robot, which - once assembled and programmed - can perform fun movements and turns

Before building these more sophisticated models, beginners can try their hand at simple constructions. The demo model explains the basic principle of how the motor and button can be programmed and controlled. At the push of a button, the motor runs for a pre-defined time, meanwhile a rotating disk moves with a graphic that creates an optical illusion. Experienced designers dare to build a mobile robot with which various driving tasks can be programmed.

A total of nine different Robotics models can be built and programmed with the construction kit. Those who want to can share their program with other users via the fischertechnik Cloud and thus exchange ideas. The construction kit is suitable for children aged 10 and older.
