Pokémon: a true fashion icon

Pokémon - March 2021

From high street to high-end, Pokémon is wowing the world of fashion. Its universal, timeless and fun appeal has attracted innovative and exciting collaborations and partnerships from mass-market to luxury brands.

Global high street giants including H&M, Zara, Bershka and Pull&Bear have become regular partners launching new lines each year. Newer collaborations include landmark brands such as adidas and Levi’s, who unveiled their vibrant kids and adults range in February, whilst last year’s Uniqlo’s Daniel Arsham x Pokémon T-shirt collection featured a unique art project imagining what Pokémon would look like to future archaeologists.

Last year’s streetwear collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design was available through Dover Street Market pop-ups in US, UK and China, and was followed by a second exclusive collection where Fujiwara partnered with Moncler. Most recently, TPCi partnered with Longchamp on a collection of luxury Le Pliage® bags launched last October.

Pokémon has consistently been making strides on the catwalk, with its iconic imagery and ethos inspiring sought-after capsule collections from leading cutting-edge designers, launched at major Fashion Weeks around the world: Jeremy Scott in New York; GCDS in Milan; Bobby Abley in London; and Koché in Tokyo.

As Pokémon continues its rapid growth in the fashion industry, more exciting collaborations are in the pipeline.
