Snoopy and Friends now also capture the glamorous world of fashion. World-famous designer like Isaac Mizrahi will take inspiration from their favourite Peanuts character to create a couture runway outfit. As part of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York they present their unique creations on September 7th, 2007 at the “MetLife Snoopy in Fashion Show”. This exclusive event reflects latest fashion trends on the Peanuts that brought fresh dynamics to fashion industry – also in Germany.

The funny tales of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and Woodstock have been fascinating fans in more than 75 countries for over 55 years. World’s most widely read comic strip has long become a classic. Now fashion industry recognizes their unbroken popularity: Next Friday Snoopy and his friends will stand in the focus of this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York. Many of fashion's favourite designers are confirmed to participate including Heatherette, Isaac Mizrahi and Betsey Johnson, among several other leading designers from around the world. Following the MetLife Snoopy in Fashion show, Peanuts fans and Fashionistas alike will share the opportunity to bid on the designer unique runway creations in an eBay auction. Proceeds from the MetLife Snoopy in Fashion auction will benefit a non-profit organization. "Not only our main target demographic of 3- to 13-years-old but also grown-ups today love the Peanuts more than ever before. Fashion ranks first in licensed Peanut products. No matter if baby hats or boxer shorts, whether socks or casual wear, Peanuts add spice to the world of fashion”, said Joachim Knödler, Sales & Retail Director, Copyright Promotions Germany.

Mid-October Snoopy himself will take a look at shopping areas, when he starts on his costume tour through Hamburg and Munich. These live events provide a perfect platform for Peanuts licensees, promote brand awareness, stimulate demand and boost retail sales.

But not only fashion tickles the Peanuts fan’s fancy – also the publishing industry. As the Peanuts love good food, the Franckh-Kosmos Verlags-GmbH & Co. KG now release a cookbook with favourite dishes of Charlie Brown & Co. that is spiced up with funny comic strips. This product once again reveals: There are no limits for great licensing ideas!
