EM.Entertainment GmbH has agreed an extensive license contract with Universal Music Family Entertainment – a unit of Universal Music Deutschland GmbH - for exploitation of well-known classics within the audio theater sector in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The program package includes well-known formats such as Maya the Bee, Vicky the Viking, Nils Holgersson, Sinbad, Pinocchio and other titles from the EM.Entertainment program library. The contract runs for four years until May 31, 2011 and includes the marketing of programs in audio formats such as audio cassette or CD, as well as marketing in the form of electronic sell-through. This encompasses the distribution of content via online platforms, whereby it can be downloaded by customers for a fee.

With its Deutsche Grammophon, Karussell and Starbugs Stories labels, Universal Music Family Entertainment has a reputation for very high quality within the audio book and theater sector, as well as in children’s music and audio-visual family entertainment. Painstaking voice-over selection and the precise adaptation of literature subject matter are as much of a priority at Family Entertainment as the attention paid in children’s productions to educational values, age-appropriate stimulation and practicality.

"We are very pleased to be able to continue our long-standing, successful and honorable co-operation with EM.Entertainment. The EM.Entertainment portfolio has been a significant part of our catalogue for many years. It is our desire to continue to bring life to all of these valuable characters, and to position them in the audio theater market as timeless brands with exceptional appeal", comments Andreas Maaß, Director Family Entertainment at Universal Music_Strategic Marketing GmbH.

"Universal Music has already proven itself to be a strong and reliable partner. I am convinced that our program classics will continue to enjoy a strong retail presence as a result of this co-operation", states John Morris, President Distribution EM.Entertainment GmbH at the international TV trade fair MIPCOM in Cannes.
