Racing Action For Boys – Riding Fun For Girls
“Which toy is likely to win the Christmas race this year? Our ‘TOP 10 Toy’ award may provide the answer,” said Willy Fischel, CEO of the Bundesverbandes des Spielwaren-Einzelhandels (BVS - Federal Toy Retailers Association) in Cologne, Germany. Now this year’s jury of toy retailing experts announced their favourite: The Dragonfly by Wowwee, world’s first R/C insect that really flaps through the air. Also awarded: The first democratically chosen Monopoly Deutschland Edition. And not to forget: The eagerly awaited Circus Comeback by Playmobil (available only in Europe) and the King's Castle Siege of the popular product line 'Castle' by LEGO.
- This year’s boy trend is “racing action”. Inspired by Steven Spielberg’s life action movie “Transformers”, model cars are now again able to become robots. Among Germany’s TOP 10 Toys: The Transformers theme, including the ultimate Optimus Prime Helmet with voice changer and transforming vehicles. Equally top: the transforming V_Bot, the unique radio-controlled 1:32 SIKU Truck as well as the latest Carrera racing system – an all-time Christmas classic.
- This year, girls go for riding fun: It is common knowledge that girls love horses. Even two horse toys secured a rank among Germany’s TOP 10 Toys: Barbie’s Jumping Tawny with brandnew trotting and jumping features and the innovative Wendy Play Set by GeeGee Friends that brings popular comic characters to every girl’s room in Germany.
