TV Movie comments: “Successful silver screen debut of a TV cult”; the SPIEGEL says “A masterpiece in yellow”: The very first Simpson Movie already goes for the most popular animated movie of all times. The movie made global box office sales of 552 million US dollar only in October 2007. In Germany 4.5 million viewers went to the theatres and made the film third best movie of the year.

And the success story of the most yellow family on earth not yet over. Ferrero signed the main characters of the cult series for a very special guest appearance: From 22 October 10 different Simpson’s 3D figures will be hidden in the famous KINDER Surprise eggs. For about six weeks fans may find their favourites in the popular eggs, including Bart and Homer as well as Krusty the Clown and Sideshow Bob. For this merchandising activity Ferrero produced more than 10 million Simpson figures and hides them in every seventh egg – promised! From 3 December 2007 the living room is turned into a movie theatre. Supported by large scale merchandising activities Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release “Simpsons – Der Film” on DVD and Blue-Ray-Disc to the German market. In addition to the film in German and English language fans may expect a firework of bonus materials including the Simpsons as “American Idol” judges and a variety of deleted scenes. Twentieth Century Fox is expecting high sales figures.
“The DVD release as well as the large Kinder Surprise promotion confirm that the Simpsons are still up-to-date,” says Joachim Knödler, Sales & Retail Director Copyright Promotions, licensing agency of the Simpsons in Germany. “Our licensees will continuously benefit from the Simpsons hype – also in the future. Just as we have expected, the film extended the marketing opportunities even further. And our licensees report constantly high sales figures.” |
