Copyright Promotions: Large-scale Postman Pat Campaign at Karstadt

Copyright Promotions - Dezember 2007

Boys and girls between three and six love friendly Postman Pat. Almost 35 percent of the 3 to 13 year-olds follow the adventures of Pat, his black-and-white cat Jess and his red post office van. Now popular Postman Pat visits Karstadt Stores in three major cities in Germany and entertains his little fans for a whole day. Those life performances with larger than life-sized ‘walking acts’ provide licensees with a perfect merchandising platform. What is more, these events feature many licensed articles in exciting competitions and lotteries. “Kids love those large walking characters. They love to touch and cuddle their favourite heroes from TV. So such attention getting activities are really decisive for brand awareness and popularity. And, of course, our retail partners also benefit from those events,” said Joachim Knödler, Sales & Retail Director, Copyright Promotions.

Children have already been able to hug Postman Pat and his cat Jesse on November 24th in Hamburg and December 1st in Berlin. Each day, more than 10,000 young and not-so-young fans came to take pictures and try their luck at the numerous competitions and lotteries. On December 8th Postman Pat gives his last guest performance in the city-centre of Munich. “Those popular walking acts always boost sales for our licensees - especially during the Christmas Season,” said Knödler.

Copyright Promotions manage a great variety of licensed products that accompany the famous TV series on the British postman, including audio plays, DVDs, a licensed magazine, high-quality wooden toys and a CD/DVD game. In spring 2008 games for Nintendo DS and PS2 will be launched onto the German market – the Postman Pat brand leaves almost nothing to be desired.
