ATARI setzt auf Klassiker Bussi Bär!

CTM Concept - March 2008

CTM extend their high-quality Bussi Bear product portfolio to four new licensees

No time to relax for Bussi Bear: After the hustle and bustle of his 40th anniversary last year, the main character of Germany’s most read, officially recommended preschool magazine (circulation of 130,000 copies each month) now happily welcomes his new licensees.

First of all, Frankfurt-based Atari Germany acquired the license to use the positive image and high awareness level of the popular children’s hero for a new line of licensed educational PC games. Atari plans to launch up to four e-learning software games loosely based upon latest Bussi Bear magazines and contributing to the educational intention of the Bussi Bear brand. The first game is scheduled for release in autumn 2008.

“With Bussi Bear we have been able to sign one of the oldest and best established children’s brands for our product portfolio. Especially our ambitious edutainment products need a reliable, convincing basis and Bussi Bear is able to provide this background. We are looking forward to our future cooperation and our first results in autumn this year“, said Patrick Rausch, Senior Product Manager, Atari Germany.

In addition to the new interactive, audio-visual products, Bussi Bear will also make his auditory debut this year: New licensee TopSound GmbH, Munich, currently works on various audio items, including a song album and an audio play on the popular children’s character.

Bussi Bear is not only good for watching and listening to – he’s a brand made for touching. In autumn 2008, little fans will enjoy the new broad range of wooden Bussi Bear toys made by Mertens GmbH, Furth, featuring jigsaws, picture books, children’s height measures, furniture, decoration and much more for children’s rooms. Mertens has been founded 75 years ago and is Germany’s oldest brand for wooden toys. Since 1990, Mertens has been distributing wooden toys, gift items and children’s furniture under their popular “Bino” brand.

Market-leading embroidered emblem manufacturer MONO-QUICK, Kahl/Main, is also convinced of Bussi Bear's marketing potentials and plans to launch decorative iron-on patches to the German market.

Thus Bussi Bear has been able to add four new strong partners to his exciting product portfolio.
