Just in time for the UEFA EURO 2008 Gerolsteiner and “Wilde Kerle” will launch a line of new soft drinks to the German market. The limited edition of “Wilde Kerle” refreshments will be available from May to September 2008.

“Market research last year revealed that special flavoured Gerolsteiner mineral water enjoy a rising market share during the summer months (Source: AC Nielsen, 12/2007). So this is the ideal time to launch our innovations to the market and win new consumers for the Gerolsteiner brand,” said Marcus Macioszek, Area Marketing Manager, Gerolsteiner Brunnen GmbH & Co. KG.

“Geroldsteiner’s new soft drinks and ‘Wilde Kerle’ are the perfect combination to appeal to new buyers. Our new products will certainly benefit from a transfer of their high awareness level with the target group.”

Gerolsteiner developed new sporty summer refreshments in three different flavour variations based upon their natural Gerolsteiner mineral water: “Blutgrätsche” (Sliding Tackle in Wild Cherry), “Dribbelkönig” (Dribbling King in Lime&Mint) and “Lattenkracher” (Crossbar Crasher in Prickley Pear). Each soft drink contains 3% fruit juice and no artificial food colourings; all are low in calories and come in a non-deposit bottle with trendy sports caps.

Contrasting all alcoholic drinks or sweet beverages that typically accompany all major football events, Gerolsteiner will launch a healthy, non-alcoholic refreshing drink for children and teenagers aged 6 to 16. The company aims to attract new consumer groups to their classic Gerolsteiner brand. Product launch in May 2008 will be supported by large scale marketing campaigns.
