New Media Licensing Agency signs TIMBERSPORTS® deal

STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® the elite division of lumberjack sports available for game licences

The Brands Division of AT New Media, a specialist new media licensing agency and consultancy, today announced that it has signed a deal to represent the world’s most important competition series in lumberjack sports, the STIHL®, TIMBERSPORTS® SERIES. Owned in its entirety by the World’s leading Chainsaw and Garden Power Tool Manufacturer, STIHL®, under the agreement, AT New Media aims to exploit interactive games opportunities for platforms such as Nintendo Wii® amongst others.

STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® is the elite division of lumberjack sports on a Global scale. A significantly followed global sport backed not only by the world’s premier brand STIHL®, but thanks to it having its own TV format, by global Television networks including Eurosport (Europe) to ESPN (US).

STIHL® USA founded STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® SERIES in 1985 together with ESPN, the world’s biggest sports television network and with a wealth of disciplines to choose from, it was imperative to find the right combination for spectators, athletes and the media. It was a huge success and that success was then transferred successfully to Europe in 2001.

This is a truly global phenomenon with participants from the US, Canada, France, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Spain, Ireland, Poland, Czech Republic, and Denmark. The series is soon to grow to also include Italy, Brazil, and South Africa, amongst others.

During the events contestants compete against each other in 6 disciplines such as STIHL®, Stock Saw, Single Buck and Standing Block Chop.

Across the world, STIHL® is expanding its brand presence as a whole and STIHL® GB has recently extended its brand awareness by becoming the Official Sponsor for the 2008 Bennetts British Superbike Championships.
