Borkent will create global programming strategies, integrating all network efforts worldwide, for Nickelodeon’s key on-air brands such as tween hit iCarly and leading franchises, SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar and Dora the Explorer. Borkent will also oversee operations for Nickelodeon International, driving key processes including administrative, financial, global adaptation and budget management. Borkent relocates to New York from London and report dually to Steve Grieder, Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon International and Pete Danielsen, Executive Vice President, Programming, MTV Networks Kids & Family, both based in New York. "As an integral driver and leader of Nickelodeon’s international programming and acquisition divisions, Jules is well positioned to broaden the scope of our content strategy, creating a truly global, yet locally relevant experience for our partners and viewers," commented Steve Grieder, SVP, Nickelodeon International. Borkent joined Nickelodeon Europe in 1998, serving most recently as Vice President, Programming, Nickelodeon International. During his tenure he has been responsible for a host of various pan-regional programming initiatives and productions as well as many acquisitions including most recently, H20 from ZDF Enterprises, Growing Up Creepie from Taffy Entertainment and Roary the Racing Car Driver from Target. |
