The Turtles continue to be a hit with young fans as well as old with TMNT ranking as the fourth most popular show on the CITV channel in the UK since the start of 2008. CITV has also acquired the latest season 'TMNT Back to the Sewer', for launch in 2009 Jetix in France is now airing season 3 mornings and afternoons daily until 24th August and the loveable mutants will also be back on TV in Spain airing on TVE and on SIC in Portugal supported by an online competition.
Following the success of the live shows in Europe 4Kids have appointed Bruno Productions BV to manage the licensing programme in Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Plans for the 2009 tour are already underway and a third date in Cardiff has been confirmed for 6th June 2009. However, no need to wait for next year to enjoy more rip-roaring antics thanks to the release of Activision's brand new video game! The Monster Jam video game allows players to compete in authentic Monster Jam stadium events and drive the biggest and baddest monster trucks in the sport, including Grave Digger®, Maximum Destruction®, Monster Mutt®, El Toro Loco® and Blue Thunder®. Additionally, the game features destructible environments and lifelike physics in over 20 indoor and outdoor race tracks, offering single or multiplayer modes for split-screen mayhem. Total destruction is sure to follow as players crush cars, catch massive air, and perform death-defying stunts on their way to become the ultimate Monster Jam world champion. The Monster Jam video game is available to buy on the Xbox 360®, PlayStation®2, Nintendo Wii™, Nintendo DS™ and Windows PC platforms.
Set in the present day, Dinosaur King follows Max and friends on a heroic adventure around the world to recover missing dinosaur cards which, when activated, bring these historic creatures to life. Whoever controls the cards controls the power of the dinosaur and it's a race against time to make sure they don't fall into the wrong hands. The series started airing on Jetix in the UK on 1st March and is currently the No.1 show on the channel. France 3 has begun airing 3 teaser episodes online since mid July continuing until the end of August. The full series will launch in September when a special programming event will be broadcast including a competition in partnership with SEGA. Episodes of Dinosaur King can also be seen on the in-store TV's at La Grande Recre from September. Other broadcasters to pick up the show include LNK (Lithuania), RTL 2 (Germany) which will begin airing season 1 on 8th August 2008 and MTV3, SUB and Juniori in Finland which will start broadcast in February next year. Also in 2009 the show will be aired in Sweden on TV4 AB, France on Canal J and on TV2 and TV2 Zulu in Denmark. Kids will soon be able to get their hands on their very own Dinosaurs when Master Toy licensee Playmates Toys release a Spring 2009 product line, including dinosaur figures and role-play items, inspired by the popular animated adventure series. Playmates will distribute the line throughout North America and Eastern Europe with distribution partners appointed throughout Europe. Additionally The Cookie Company will be launching apparel in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Renowned trading card company Upper Deck will also play a pivotal role in the Dinosaur King brand with an all-new trading card game scheduled for release in October 2008. The Dinosaur King Trading Card Game will feature amazing dinosaur art cards with easy to learn game play, and real dinosaur facts on every card. The 130-plus collectible card set includes over 80 dinosaurs. The Dinosaur King Trading Card Game will also include three different foil technologies, highlighting the collectability of these great cards! Additionally, Upper Deck Dinosaur King Trading Cards will be included in the Playmates Toys' Dinosaur figures, granting special strengths and abilities for dinosaurs in the Trading Card Game. A number of European licensees have been quick to sign up the brand including Tennessee S.A who will be launching a range of 'back to school' accessories in France. Belltex has just taken the licence for bedding, towels, ponchos, bathrobes, sleeping bags and rugs for France, Benelux, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and the Nordics and Bip Holland will be manufacturing a large range of confectionery. |
