Halloween by KOSMOS – Preview for Long-Term Planners

KOSMOS - August 2008

For Strong and Gentle Shivers

When monsters rings the doorbell like crazy and ogres are keen on sweets … than it’s Halloween. Around October 31st everything that sends shivers down your spine is in great demand: Grinning pumpkins, scary masks – and for children aged 8+ the KOSMOS Experimental Horror Kits available from end of August. These experimental kits help children to shock their friends and parents even more. For younger children KOSMOS provides gentler creeps. The picture book “Ich finde was…Im Gespensterschloss” (I discover something … In the Ghost House) features a ghost town with witches soaring through the air and dragons creeping along the streets.

KOSMOS Experimental Horror Kits
A hand growing out of the soil and whole hands dangling on torn off shirtsleeves: no problem with the “Finger Shocker”. Also “Monster’s Blood” is perfect equipment to scare your parents, as you can paint “real” wounds or feign scars. And when creepy crawlies like slugs, spiders and bugs make your skin crawl, you should definitely not go for “Horrortiere” (Horror Animals). But things get really disgusting when it comes to „Alienschleim“ (Alien Slime): A little alien with an over-foaming brain spits all over the table.

All four experimental horror kits are dedicated to KOSMOS guideline “Get fun and entertainment – and learn something on the way”. So the included booklets not only tell us how to make scary fingers, they also explain why something gives us the creeps and what aliens actually are. The small experimental kits for children aged 8+ are available at specialized retailers for an SRP of Euros 8.45.

Ich finde was... Im Gespensterschloss
Not so very creepy is Walter Wick’s picture book „Ich finde was... Im Gespensterschloss“ (I discover something … In the Ghost House). This book takes children aged 5+ on a trip to a haunted castle. They discover many astonishing details on the busy photo pictures and enter fascinating worlds of images. Atmospheric riddle rhymes accompany the picture puzzles and lead to exciting discoveries. What is more, the book casually trains children’s power of observation. In September „Ich finde was... Im Gespensterschloss“ enters the shelves of bookshops throughout Germany and costs app. Euros 12.95.
