CPLG and “It's Happy Bunny” – always good for a surprise

That leaves you dumbfounded! With “It's Happy Bunny” CPLG adds one of America’s most popular and best-selling licenses in their portfolio. “It’s Happy Bunny” by Jim Benton is a cute, little rabbit – but only on first sight! And its nasty remarks will not be far behind. Its big mouth stands in direct opposition to its cute appearance and makes “It’s Happy Bunny” one of the most popular cartoon properties in the USA.

Now CPLG jump starts the nasty rabbit in Germany. Especially the target group of teens and young adults love provocative slogans like “Love Bites” or “It’s cute how stupid you are”. More than 1000 licensed articles worldwide already feature the no-good bunny. In Germany Belltex presents “It's Happy Bunny” on beddings, cushions, bathrobes and sleeping bags. Posters and cards by Caris round the licensing programme off.

“Simple, recognizable graphic design and contrasting slogans make “It's Happy Bunny” one-of-a-kind and extremely versatile,” says Joachim Knödler, Sales & Retail Director of CPLG. “Our licensing concept covers apparel, gift items, stationery, bags and cases. The license could even boost poster campaigns like an anti-drug campaign featuring “It’s Happy Bunny”.” What is more, all nasty slogans are now available in German. The Blue Dragon now fights for CPLG

With Blue Dragon CPLG launches another promising license to the German market. Blue Dragon, created by Viz Media, follows the story of five friends Shu, Jiro, Kluke, Zola, and Marumaro. Together they fight the evil King of the Grand Kingdom, Nene. After a first confrontation the friends undergo a strange transformation: Their shadows change. Shu’s shadow now resembles a dragon, the Blue Dragon.

The first 51 episodes are scheduled for German broadcast in October on RTL 2. The famous Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi originally designed Blue Dragon as a role play character for Xbox360. Since its TV debut in 2007 Blue Dragon has become one of the most popular children series in Japan and USA. The TV show targets boys aged between 6 and 13 and is the best-rating series in its segment in the US. In its time slot it ranks second best just behind SpongeBob SquarePants.

CPLG develops a large licensing programme covering different product categories. The US American website will be adapted for the European market and Bandai will launch their Blue Dragon action figures to the market in spring 2009. Potential licensees may now register for the Blue Dragon Workshop on 8 October 2008 in Munich at rfaetkenheuer@de.cplg.com.
