Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) and Tomy Yujin Europe Ltd (TYE) have established an exciting partnership in the European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) licensed vending markets. As the official licensee for the vending market, TYE intends to build upon the strength of Nickelodeon’s portfolio of hit properties, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar and Jimmy Neutron, as well Nick Jr shows, Dora the Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!, The Backyardigans and Blue’s Clues. The two-year deal was announced today at Brand Licensing Europe. Following the launch in Spring this year of product lines for SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer licenses, TYE will continue to aggressively introduce further ranges from October 2008 across 36 territories throughout EMEA including France, Germany, Netherlands and the UK. The vending machines are located in a range of outlets such as supermarkets, including Sainsbury’s in the UK, toy shops such as La Grande Récré in France or cinemas including the Odeon in the UK, and food outlets such as Autogrill in Italy. In addition the machines can also be found at Toys’R’Us throughout several territories, as well as at beaches, theme parks, independent stores and kiosks. The forthcoming SpongeBob SquarePants ‘danglers’ range has been based upon the renowned 'SpongeWatch' style guide and can be attached to items such as mobile phones, keyrings, bags and belts. In addition to specific gifts, 'Gacha Boxes' containing blind purchase encapsulated Nickelodeon branded toys, will be launched over the coming months to complement existing vending properties. |
