Hit Entertainment And Disney Channel Latin America Agree To Produce All-New Localized Version Of Award Winning Series Art Attack In Argentina

HIT Entertainment - November 2007

HIT Entertainment, a leading provider of quality children’s entertainment, and Disney Channel Latin America, the #1 cable channel for kids and families in the region, have entered into an agreement to produce 52 new episodes of the award-winning series Art Attack. Production for the new series will start in Argentina and will be localized for the Latin American market, featuring new art projects and utilizing art styles/materials popular in the region.

Art Attack first began in the UK in 1989 and has been seen in 32 different countries around the world, including six non-English speaking, localized versions. The original UK production – still the longest running series on CITV – was hosted by Neil Buchanan and features do-it-yourself art projects, helping kids hone their creative genius. Proving that art can be fun even if you have no formal training, Art Attack models creative expression and experimentation with different styles, materials and forms of art. From making massive pictures out of chocolate chips to creating complicated mazes out of clay to soap carvings and balloon mobiles, Art Attack encourages people to realize their inner Picasso!

This agreement marks the first time Art Attack will be produced outside of the UK.

“Art Attack is an award-winning, iconic series that speaks to the inner-artist in everyone and helps build self-esteem through self-expression,” said Rodrigo Piza, Vice President Broadcast Canada, Latin America and Hispanic US and Live Events & Sponsorships, Latin America for HIT Entertainment. “We look forward to working closely with the Disney Channel in Argentina to produce the new versions of the show.”

A dubbed version of the series has aired in the region on Disney Channel Latin America since 2002.
