Full steam ahead for new products from the famous international manufacturer: All wooden railway trains convince through authentic design that combines every-day reality and children’s play world. What is more, new Walt Disney characters including Mickey Mouse and friends enter the world of classic wooden trains and provide additional play fun. Innovations will be introduced at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg (5 – 10 Feb 2009) in Hall 4, Stand C55 / D50. Furthermore, BRIO adds new products to their popular My Very First range of high quality plush and wooden toys for infants (aged 0 to 12 months) and provides new attractive items at reasonable prices. The BRIO Railway – A classic in new design
For their new wooden railway range BRIO is going to break new grounds: “The BRIO railway system is our strength. Here we are leading the markets in sales, quality and innovations. That’s why this year’s product innovations a centred around the BRIO wooden railway system. True to the motto ´A Train is a Train` our innovations focus on authentic design. We have also developed a new three-stage pricing system to provide retailers and final consumers with additional orientation aid. Pricing categories are differentiated by colour, each representing a certain price level“, said Christian Alsbaek, managing director, BRIO Germany GmbH. BRIO took the viewpoint of children when designing their new railway accessories, asking themselves: ‘Which trains to I know from reality?’ Steam or shunting engines, tenders, tank cars, timber and crane wagons as well as high speed trains – BRIO closely observed the real railway world and modelled their trains accordingly. Also international rail traffic has its share. The reason: Children see engines and wagons every day when travelling by train. Now they are able to recognize them and integrate the vehicles into their own play worlds. Vice versa, they can discover similarities between their toys and ‘real’ trains. BRIO presents a total of eleven new trains and wagons with magnet coupling and highly detailed authentic design – down to printed emblems, logos, labelling, number of wheels and functional equipment of individual wagons. Of course, all new accessories are compatible with the classic wooden BRIO railway system. |

BRIO toddler range – extended by Walt Disney
A special focus lies on educational toys for children between 12 months and three years – with toddler products featuring contaminant-free coating and children-safe round shapes. BRIO provides colourful licensed Walt Disney products, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse figures that start dancing when children push the base plate. Many preschoolers already know the characters from TV and will soon find out, how to make Mickey and Minnie kneel, jump or dance by different pushing techniques – thus training their tactile skills. In addition, stacking, piling, push-along and pull-along toys that have inspired generations of children since the 1960s now add again to the toddler product portfolio. The stacking dog “Puck” first launched in 1964 now shines in bright new colours. Pull-along rabbits and push-along racing cars promote children’s coordination, motor skills and tactile skills while new colours, modern design and high quality increase play fun for the children of today. | |
