To support the latest movie in the teen terror franchise, 'Friday the 13th', VBSI has partnered with Paramount to create a cross-platform campaign. This will see the production of 10" teaser spots, a 60" competition spot to win the spooky holiday of a lifetime in the US, as well as a dedicated film microsite www.mtv-friday13th.com. MTV will run media on air and online in Europe, Australia and Japan from the beginning of February.

 

Consumer Products

France
Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products France (NVCP) will release its first-ever Dora the Explorer video game in partnership with 2K Play on 30 January in the French market. Dora Saves the Snow Princess will be published across PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii formats, and will be available to purchase from local retails outlets including Auchan, Carrefour, Fnac, Geant, and Micromania.

Germany
NVCP Germany has inked two brand new licensing deals for NICK Jr property, Dora the Explorer. Panini Verlags will create an essential guide and ultimate sticker album with the deal set to run until 31 December 2011, while in a two year deal, W&O Products will launch a range of branded stationery including greetings cards, gift bags, plastic chairs, memo blocks and pens. All products will be available throughout airports, duty-free shops, card and gift outlets, bookshops, and department stores across Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

UK
NVCP UK has renewed key licensing deals for its pre-school brand, Dora the Explorer, including with Martin Yaffe, David Halsall and Worlds Apart. Licensees’ commitment to the property is fuelled by her consistent strong performance; NPD finds Dora the Explorer no. 1 in pre-school electronic learning and apparel.

 

Programme Sales

MTV Networks International (MTVNI) has signed several new deals which will see its Comedy Central brand’s programming airing across ENEA. GTV (Africa) has picked up award-winning satirical news show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Global Edition as well as seasons one, two and three of stand up comedy programme, Chappelle’s Show. SW Television (Finland) will air locally customised versions of cult animation, South Park and Reno 911 until March 2011 and November 2010 respectively, and TG4 (Ireland) has also bought season 12 of South Park.
